Considering Locoat

Postby Karl DBN on Sun May 08, 2011 9:10 pm

Hi Everyone

My first post on this forum.
Please could I ask for advice.

I have spent the last three months looking around for a project car. I have looked at restoring a classic car but found the hassle of removing rust and finding body parts just to much. I stumbled on this web site investigating Kit Cars.

Now my question is: where do I start. Do I buy a Chassis and then start putting it together. Where is the best place to source a chassis that wont coast a arm and a leg.
If I buy a chassis how do I source the motor and will this fit?

Any advise or suggestions will be much appreciated.

From your name I gather you are from Durban? If so 1st step is to get into touch with the 7 car club of Natal

A nice buch of guys that will gladly help you get to grips with starting a kit car project to make sure you make the right choice and avoid paying the usual school fees.

Race car 1: Birkin IRS 4AGE 20v (TLR class B - B10)
Race car 2: Birkin IRS 4AGE 20v (TLR Class B for SO - B20)
Road car: erm.. who cares
