Birkin live rear axel & diff

Postby Kiwibirkin on Sun Jan 24, 2010 11:10 am

Hi guys im a new member to this forums and I have a 1996 Birkin live rear axel the car is based in New Zealand with me and its 1 of only 5 Birkin's that are in NZ.

Anyway im after some info on what live axels the Birkins used around 1996/1997, I have been told its a factory built car and was then exported to Japan along with a quite a few others Birkin were exporting at that time. The only info I can seem to find is it us a Borg Warner and has come of a SA Toyota Hilux ??? if you need any pictures to help me id the rear axel I can put some up. Reason im asking is its developed some vibration in the diff gears and I need to get it fixed and need this info for the repair guys.

Cheers Stephen

Good Day.
Just mail Birkin at research@birkin.co.za. I think it's a modified nissan 1400 bakkie diff, thats been manufactured by Gearmax SA for the Birkin factory. If it's a 3.89:1 ratio.
