Thanks!

Heard last night our Phakisa race this weekend was cancelled due to a lack of entries :(
Means we will probably attend the trax day on sunday to shake down the car

Looking good, think the windscreen surround and stays needs to go black now to round it off :)

Shame about the cancelled event :( Will see you at the Trax day, having serious track withdrawal symptoms...

Looks really good Anton!

I will be there on Sunday to see it in the 'flesh' :D Never thought pink and black would look as good as that, hope the S.O. is suitably impressed :D

With our race this weekend cancelled we were all prep'd with nowhere to go so decided to go the Z trackday.

I took out the new car for first session and could immediately see we got the setup pretty close and push hard from the start. The back end was a bit loose and stepped out every time I chucked the car into T4, but was dead easy to catch and correct.

After the session I moved the rollbar 10mm and dropped the rear tyre pressures 0.1bar and sent the SO out. She likes to build up her speed and steadily built up the pace session after session with the only changes we were making was to play with the brake bias.

My aim for the day was to be in the 1:15's (car is in full road trim) but the SO got a number of laps into the 14's with a lot more time to be found so we are VERY happy campers!!!

I took my car out with shagged year old 15" semis just for giggles - haven't been to a track in quite a while just to have fun. Even on the old 15"'s I still clocked a sub 1:12 lap so I'm just as happy.

The new class B spec 4AGE 20 valve engine has been built, inspected, sealed and installed. New Class B rule is that all engines have to be inspected and sealed for 2009. Currently the car is in class C but will most likely move into class B during the course of next year so got the engine inspection out of the way while we built it.

Will finish off the last few bits and bobs and start her tonight. Car booked for the dyno on Wednesday.

Finally managed to source and LS diff for Lauren's car from Trevor at AK components. On his advice we are adding 2 extra clutches to bring the diff up to 60% from the stock 25%. He told me the installation the clutches were dead easy and I'll know what to do when I see it. With some trepidation we stripped the diff, and guess what, it was easy as pie!

Stripped the old escort diff from the car

Made up a jig from that diff so that I can accurately replicate the suspension pickup points on the new diff

Will start fabricating the new pick up points tonight. Considered changing the panhard rod for a watt's linkage, but decided against it since the chassis was not designed to have suspension pick up points behind the axle.
